Unscripted Exhibition
So I’ve been a bit remiss lately, and haven’t been blogging what I have been up to, so here goes…
I got invited to exhibit work at the “unscripted exhbition” at the St James theatre in Wellignton. Unscripted was set up to celebrate the technicains and creative talent behind the Wellignton film industry, and I am proud to be a part of such an amazing showcase.

From the 3rd to the 9th of September 2011 Wellingtonians and New Zealanders will tune into some of the creative’s that have helped make the New Zealand film industry what it is today.
Within the Wellington film industry there are hundreds of artists working collectively to create some of finest films made in the world. ‘Unscripted’ aims to profile these brilliant minds to present their talent as individuals, in mediums ranging from illustration, jewellery, costume, sculpture and 3D animation and many more.
Oscar winning Production Designer, Dan Hennah states, “It is wonderful to see an exhibition that showcases the creative individuals that work in film. Our industry is by nature collaborative and it is great to see the artists that have come together with passion for film and what they do for a real job. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with these talented people and celebrate the innovation of ‘Unscripted’ in focusing our attention on their individual talents.”
On the 2nd of September, The St James Theatre first floor gallery will be transformed for a VIP industry opening event with an anticipated 350+ guests and live entertainment. The exhibition will open to the public for one week following.
Ra Vincent, Greg Broadmore, Ivan Vostinar, Rebecca Asquith, Ryan Rogers and Steph Lusted to name a few. Greg Broadmore, senior conceptual artist states, “Working in the Wellington film industry for over 10 years, I’ve met hundreds of creative talents. Their names adorn the credit reels of our collaborative works, but a vast amount of personal work is often never seen. The ‘Unscripted’ Exhibition represents an incredible opportunity to delve into this wealth of creative work. I cannot wait to see and for others to see the variety and skill on offer.”
The Unscripted project is just the start of an ongoing concept that will promote the unique creativity of artists working within the film industry. It will give film industry technicians a platform to showcase their talents not only to potential art buyers, but also to film-makers who are searching for specific talents or inspiration.
The aim is to help sustain technicians working in a very contract based industry, and ensure that more brilliant films and art come out of New Zealand.
